To find a

y = a l x - 3 l + 4

2 = a l 2.4-3 l + 4

2 = a l -0.6 l + 4

2 = —0.6a+ 4

2 - 4 = -0.6a

-2 = -0.6a

-2/0.6 = a

Replace the values in equation:

y = -2/0.6 l x - 3 l + 4

y = -3.3 l x - 3l + 4

Important data:

y = y coordinate of a point

x = x coordinate of a point.

h = x coordinate of the vertex

k = y coordinate of the vertex

a = determines the direction of the graph. If a is negative the graph goes down from the vertex. Finally, if a is positive the graph opens up from the vertex.
