Last year in different subjects such as physics we could see different graphs considering acceleration. From these graphs, we got intervals that sometimes have the shape of an absolute value graph. This concept helps us have a familiarization with this topic, no matter if it is was different.
Also, last year in math we had a familarization with quadratic equations and linear graphs. This helps us to identify different components of an equation as the vertex, and y-intercept. In the case of absolute value graphs, to complete them it was very important to know this Information. Also, in other equations, the vertex form of a quadratic one has a similar structure to the equation of absolute value. Finally, by knowing the vertex form we learned about h and k, which are also seen in absolute value.

In the last few years, we have been studying quadratic functions. We learned the standard form of this equation which is Based on this data we can learn a lot of things like how to find the vertex of an equation. We can know this by different equations such as -b/2a to find the value of x and completing the first equation I show to find the value of y in the vertex.
On the other side, this year we learned a new way to identify quadratic equations which is by using the vertex form with the equation a (x-h) + k. From this equation knowing that h is the x coordinate of the vertex and k is the y coordinate of the vertex, we replace the value and complete the equation to then isolate a to find its value. From knowing all the values at the end you can complete everything to find the standard form equation of your parabola.

In the last years, we learned about the structure of a linear function. This is based on y=mx+b. This equation shows that m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept. Also, in past years we learned that to find the slope we can use the equation m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). This equation can be used by taking into account 2 different points of the line and based on them replacing this variable. Another way we can see this lines is in architecture because the basic structures are made from linear equations.
Also, this means that by having all the data we can predict the coordinates of some graphs. Finally, all this information can be applied in real-life situations, with word problems, and an example of it is with this project because we used an image to get all this information.
